Matei Visniec's Three Nights with Madox
The first play of the 2012 season,
Best Play FEATS 2012
39th British All Winners Festival
In a seaside town where nothing ever happens, where everyone
knows everything about everyone, the lives of five inhabitants
are reawakened with the arrival of the mysterious Madox.
How can he be in so many different places at the same time?
Secrets unravel and each of them tells a different truth.
Or do they?
Curiosities abound, rumours circulate, dreams crumple, the
atmosphere overheats and anger erupts. Revolution! Catharsis!
What's to be done when there is nothing left to do against the
confines of the mind, against the limits of being, against the
incarceration which is society, against that other prison which
is solitude, against one's obsession of being excluded, against
this early warning of madness, against ... everything?
