Introduction to Directing

Entity Theatre Workshop Series 2019

Facilitator: Em Filer

About the Workshop: Think you might want to try directing, but don’t know where to start? Here. Here is where you start. Come learn some basic concepts, discuss ideas, and try out your hand at directing! Day one will be conversation and instruction, and day two will be on-your-feet practice directing a short scene.

Who is it for? People with little to no directing experience, who want to learn some basics in a pressure-free environment – or actors who want to learn more about how directors think!

About the facilitator: Em got her degree in theater (directing and stage management) from Skidmore College in New York in 2015. She’s been doing theater in Munich with both Entity and Munich Feminist Project since 2016, including co-directing Entity’s winter 2017 production of Stage Kiss. She loves directing more than anything in the world, and she can’t wait to share some of her knowledge with you!
