A big thank you to playwright Patrick B Hayes and everyone who joined us at MUCCA on 10 October for Entity Theatre’s playreading of All My Pretty Ones!

We had a fascinating afternoon bringing Patrick’s compelling play to life, exploring its intriguing blend of mystery, history, and the haunting events of Oradour-sur-Glane in occupied France during World War II.

A special thank you to Patrick for joining us live via video from Birmingham, England, and sharing this experience with us. It was a real pleasure to have the playwright himself join us for our afternoon!

And, of course, thank you to all our wonderful readers for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement. It was a great opportunity to explore a thought-provoking piece of writing together and to experience the unique magic of a play taking shape through a shared reading.

Synopsis:

Three young medical students, hoping to reach the sun-soaked beaches of the French Riviera, instead find themselves stranded at a remote railway station near the ruined village of Oradour-sur-Glane. By chance, they are taken in by the mysterious Maurice, who runs a local Auberge.

After discovering a wartime diary, strange events begin to occur, seeming to blur the dividing line between dark wartime events and the present day. Their journey leads them to the tragic events of Oradour-sur-Glane, and a strange connection between each of them and the wartime inhabitants.

Based on real events, the play takes place in both the modern day, and occupied France in 1944. Of course, it all happened over 80 years ago. It could never happen again…could it?
