Membership
Do you have a passion for theatre? Are you handy with tools and enjoy building stage sets? Would you like to try your hand at directing, acting, or lighting and sound?
Whether you’re an experienced theatre-maker or completely new to theatre, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to our productions, whether — on stage, backstage or on the production side. And if you’re just starting out, we’d be delighted to show you the ropes!
Who can become a member?
All natural persons aged 15 years or older are eligible for membership.
Young people aged 15–17 inclusive require the written consent of a legal representative to be admitted as members and for all matters relating to their membership.
How do I become a member?
Membership cannot be applied for directly.
You will be invited to become a member on taking part in your first production, either on stage or backstage. This includes roles including, but not limited to, director, producer, actor, stage manager, stage crew, lighting and sound technician, props coordinator, costume manager, hair & makeup artist, and set builder.
What are the benefits of membership?
As a member of Entity Theatre e.V., you’ll become part of a diverse, international community of enthusiastic and fun-loving theatre-makers.
In addition, members of Entity Theatre enjoy the following benefits:

- The right to attend and vote at membership meetings, giving you a voice in the running of Entity Theatre
What does it cost to become a member?
We are a non-profit social organisation, but it costs money to stage productions and deliver the many events and activities we offer throughout the year.
Membership is subject to an annual fee, which covers one calendar year of membership (1 January to 31 December). The membership fee is determined by the Board and may be amended annually.
The current membership dues are:
- Standard rate: EUR 40
- Reduced rate: EUR 20
The reduced rate applies to teenagers aged 15–17 years inclusive,
students, seniors aged 65 and over, and unemployed persons.
New members who join during the year will pay a pro-rated fee for their first membership year, based on the number of remaining calendar months in the year.
Membership dues are payable by 15 January, preferably by direct debit.
Existing members who wish to take time off may assume inactive status and are not required to pay membership dues during that period. While inactive, they are treated as non-members with regard to all benefits, rights, responsibilities, and insurance coverage. They may reactivate their membership at the beginning of any new year without further conditions.
Can I participate in Entity Theatre activities as a non-member or inactive member?
Individuals may participate in Entity Theatre e.V. activities without being active members.
In such cases, participants will be asked to sign a disclaimer confirming that they understand and accept that they are taking part at their own risk.
