The Merry Wives of Windsor (2015)
The Merry Wives of Windsor belongs to William Shakespeare’s happy comedies, believed to have been first performed for the Garter Feast of April 23, 1597. It is also Shakespeare’s only comedy that is explicitly set in an English town and offers many points of reference which were well known to members of Shakespeare’s audience: Windsor Castle, the Garter Inn and the great oak tree — Herne’s Oak. Entity Theatre’s production of the Merry Wives of Windsor will be set in the Elizabethan period.
