24-Hour-Theater-Festival

Return of the 24-Hour-Theatre-Festival

We are pleased to announce that, after a hiatus of several years, one of Entity Theatre’s most popular ventures is back: the 24-Hour Theatre-Festival.

Preparations are in full swing already and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been busy cooking up. Accept the challenge, be part of the action and join us for an exciting and fun 2-day spectacle:

You can come alone … or in a group. On Friday the participants are split into performing groups, find out the theme, pick a random title, and get a list of rules. Then the clock starts ticking. 24 hours later the groups return to perform an original 15-minute skit, based on the ‘picked’ title – in front of a live audience. The piece must be original, and it must be conceived of and written within the 24-hour period. Only original music or music in the public domain (archive.org) can be performed. On Saturday the groups receive a one-hour rehearsal slot, after which they are not allowed to use the stage again until performance. The groups are responsible for their own set, costumes, make up … – in fact, everything they need to bring their piece onto the stage. This also includes all audio and lighting cues. Each play will be adjudicated by a team of judges. In addition to that the audience can also vote for their favourite. The 24h-Festival will be conducted under the same rules as the entries for FEATS (Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies).

Additional note to participants: if you come as a group with your friends and want to perform as a group we will do our best to accommodate you. However, we reserve the right to re-assemble groups or individuals if we deem it necessary to provide a fair and equal playing field. Ideally though that won’t be necessary. It usually isn’t.

Taking part in the 24-hour competition is free of charge and open to anyone older than 18.

If you don’t want to participate but would rather watch the show you are cordially invited to attend. Admittance will be free, further details will be announced closer to the date on our social media.

Date: Friday, May 16 19:30 – Saturday, May 17 22:30

Venue: Pepper Theatre, Thomas-Dehler-Str. 12, 81737 Munich
