Macbeth Auditions Announcement
Be bloody, bold, and resolute.
(Macbeth, Act 4, Scene 1)
Dear Friends of Shakespeare,
We are back this summer with another outdoor Shakespeare production: Macbeth, directed by Conny Loder, John Yates and Sarah Ryan, produced by Ken Lawler & Peter Heinz.
Production dates are 3–5, 10–12 and 17–19 (always Friday, Saturday and Sunday) July 2026 in the beautiful Theatron amphitheatre in Westpark.
Rehearsals will take place twice a week from the end of April, but additional rehearsal times may be added.
About the play:
Macbeth’s downfall begins with the eerie prophecies of the witches, which spark dangerous ambition. Combined with a determined Lady Macbeth, who boldly encourages her husband to take the crown, the witches are a key catalyst for later actions. Macbeth’s constant hesitation and inner conflict reveal a man torn between morality and desire. His wavering nature opens the door to violence, tyranny and inevitable ruin.
Join us as we explore the darker side of human nature in Shakespeare’s most renowned tragedy.
If you would like to join the outdoor summer production, please register online for the audition workshop by Monday 2 March. The link to the registration form is below.
