Ill Met by Moonlight by Micheál Mac Liammóir – Playreading (2026)

On Saturday March 21st 2026 Entity’s playreading circle continued with a reading of “Ill Met by Moonlight” by Micheál Mac Liammóir. It was a wonderful turnout and thank you so much to Sarah Ryan for being such a gracious host.

Bruenagally House in Connemara was built on the site of an old fairy fort. When the current owner, Professor Prosper, dives deeper into local folklore in an effort to debunk long-held beliefs, he and his extended family may not be ready for what comes next.

Fantasy meets reality in this atmospheric piece, first performed in 1946 at Dublin’s Gate Theatre, with Mac Liammóir drawing on the rich traditions of Irish myth and modern drama. Co-founder of the Gate, he is widely credited with opening the Irish theatre landscape to more international and experimental work, and was a great champion of the Irish language.

This event was hosted by Sarah Ryan and took place in the Büchersalon room at MUCCA.

This event was free for Entity Members, non-members pay 5€.
